Manan Gupta is a long time resident of Brampton where he lives with his wife, Puja and their daughters Saanvi & Kaashvi.

Although a busy small business owner, Manan makes time and contributes to community safety each and every day. He gets involved in safety committees, promote safety in his award winning publications, radio/TV programs, and volunteers for numerous community initiatives, safety campaigns and events.

Manan has played an active role through long time involvement with many social, community and public agencies. Some of these include:

  • Director – Brampton Safe City since 2007 (President 2012-13)
  • Member – Brampton Road Safety Committee since 2006 (Chair since 2009)
  • Member – Brampton Board of Trade Diversity & Inclusion Committee (Chair 2005-07)
  • Member – William Osler Foundation Holi Gala (Chair, Marketing & Communications Committee)
  • Executive Member – Automotive Transportation Service Superintendents’ Association (ATSSA) and Canadian Fleet Maintenance Seminar (CFMS)
  • Founder Member – Road Connections Safety Group, Safety Drives Us, Traffic Safety Coalition
  • Volunteer & Supporter – St. John Ambulance Peel (Operation Red Nose), Seva Food Bank, C-SASIL, Peel Police Race Against Racism, Convoy for a Cure (Breast Cancer), Drugs Awareness Society of Toronto

Manan is recipient of numerous awards and recognition for his community initiatives. Some of these include:

  • Volunteer Service Award by the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship & Immigration (2014)
  • St. John Ambulance Special Appreciation Award for Health & Safety (2013)
  • Peel Regional Police Media Excellence Award (2006, 2007, 2009 & 2012)

  • Brampton Safe City Volunteer of the Year Award (2010)
  • City of Brampton Volunteer Appreciation Award (2009)

His campaign for the municipal election will focus on issues such as high property taxes, creation of local jobs, better recreation facilities, managing growth, reducing traffic gridlock, better accountability and transparency while raising the profile of Brampton to attract business investment nationally and internationally.

Manan looks forward to share his ideas and invites residents to open the channels of communication towards effective solutions.

He is committed to work hard and intelligently towards earning the trust of residents and voters on October 27th.
